Planning Has Begun for Reunion 2019

Planning Has Begun for Reunion 2019

As 2018 gets underway there is a lot of work and planning underway! The Active sisters in Oswego are embarking on a new semester of rush and recruitment. The PLPAA board and its committees are busy planning this years reunion in June 2018. Details will be in the next edition of the Phi Times. As well look forward to next year we are already preparing for our 60th Anniversary Reunion in June 2019.

The PLPAA needs your help finding all our lost sisters

The first step in planning our 60th Anniversary party is making sure we have current contact information for all of our sisters. There are approximately 1,000 of us. If you are interested in helping find lost Lambs we can use your skills. We will be working together to divide up our present data base of sisters into multi year groups and then have teams of sisters work on making sure that all the sisters from that time period are listed and that the contact information is current. You will be contacting sisters you knew and might still be in touch with. If you would like to partake in this task or have questions, contact Bonnie Love ’67/’70 as she is coordinating the recovery efforts: blove52@aol.com or via Facebook messenger.

2016 Sunshine State Reunion

2016 Sunshine State Reunion

SAVE THE DATE
February 5th thru 7th, 2016

The PLPAA Sunshine Committee has started planning our 2016 reunion in the Sunshine State. Based on last year’s successful reunion we look forward to seeing you and additional sisters at this year’s festivities.
We hope as many of you as possible will be joining in for this fun packed weekend in the sun. We are planning a gathering centrally located between SE and SW coasts just off Alligator alley in the area of Weston, Florida. Weston is conveniently located off all major highways and 30 minutes from the FLL Hollywood airport.

Allegiant is a low cost airline which flies from upstate NY to Ft. Lauderdale, WPB and Tampa, Florida. Several upstate NY Alumni will fly down and carpools can be arranged to Weston.

We have set up a block of rooms at the Marriot Courtyard in Weston. Rooms are approximately $200 per night for a room with 2 double beds.

We are planning a luncheon on Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Prime Time Restaurant in Weston Town Center. Cost of the luncheon will be approximately $30 pp. We have secured a private area within the restaurant conducive to sisters mingling along with our own private outdoor space and bar area. Menu includes passed appetizers and a buffet luncheon of a variety of fresh salads, fat breads and finger foods. Friday evening we will be coordinating a Happy hour at one of the local pubs as well as a farewell brunch on Sunday.

Please let us know if you will be attending and if it will be for the Saturday event only or the entire weekend. Please send your reply to one of the email addresses below. Further details will be in the next issue of the Phi Times as well as on the PLPAA FB page. As always please pass on to any sisters both Florida residents as well as any Sister who wants to travel south to join the fun that may not be on our FB group or not receiving this newsletter!

We look forward to hearing from you!

Our Amazing Actives

Our Amazing Actives

There were 9 actives who joined us at the luncheon. It is safe to say on behalf of all sisters that these are a REMARKABLE group of young women. The exemplify the foundations that helped to form Phi Lambda Phi and are a diverse group of young women who are open and eager to sare their experiences and welcome in the alumni to their Phi Lamb experience.

The actives are eager and excited to focus on recruitment and growing Phi Lambda Phi. They are looking to us to help them have a successful rush and get two huge pledge classes this academic year. We are happy that the newest sisters are highly motivated to help us reach our common goals. They look to recruit new pledges who have a lot of motivation and drive to rebuild with the standards and morals that that Phi Lambda Phi was founded on. We cannot be any prouder to have them continue to carry on our traditions, share in wearing our colors and grow our beloved Phi lambda Phi.
