Summer 2014 Mini Reunions

Summer 2014 Mini Reunions

Spring 2009 Pledge Sisters
The Phi Lamb Spring 2009 pledge class came together for a mini reunion in August. This was the first time our beautiful Lambs Heather Stark, Juliet Adamo, Stephanie Holt, and Maggie Halley had been together since their days at Oswego.

Sisters from the 1960s

Sisters from the late ‘60s met in Massachusetts for reminiscing, wining and dining. Tricia Longo Gibbons ‘70 and Mary Anne Oriente Mather ’71 met up for a weekend in Falmouth on Cape Cod. They will join Leona Stone Scott ‘69 and Jane DeBartelomeo Wolf ‘69 for lunch near the Cape on September 30th. (Janie runs a cozy Bed and Breakfast in Wellfleet, MA called the Buoy House.)

Sisters from the 1980s
Sisters from the 80s Vicki Rotondo Martuscello and Michelle Klinger Wellner met in St. Augustine, Florida this Labor Day weekend. Michelle and Vicki meet once a year to celebrate 30 years of Friendship and Sisterhood.

Lambs on the go……………..
We all know how much Lambs love to travel. Pack your Lamb and share photos of your travels. This Lamb is packed and all ready to go — destination to be revealed in the next issue of Phi Times!

Our shining Star

Our shining Star

Thank you Leona Stone Scott

PLPAA started a new tradition last year – recognizing alumnae who have gone above and beyond to assist their Sister alumnae. The Alumnae Achievement Award is given to deserving Sisters each year at our Annual Meeting in June during Reunion Weekend.

This year we recognized Leona Stone Scott, a constant figure in Reunion planning for the past five years. Leona, a 1969 Oswego graduate, pledged Phi Lamb in spring 1967. She married her Beta college sweetheart, raised two sons, taught elementary school, and stayed connected to her Phi Lamb Sisters. Each year, she meets a variety of sisters for lunch or dinner in many NY locations. And for our 50th birthday celebration in 2009, Leona reached out to as many 1960s sisters as she could find, insisting that they return to celebrate this important milestone. She has continued to represent PLP on the College’s Reunion committee and this year produced 100 little black and yellow ribbons, her specialty for the past five years.  A favorite among all the sisters from the 1960s, Leona has made friends with sisters from all eras and says that doing that is the best part of being a PLP sister.

Thank you Leona for your work and your devotion to Phi Lamb.

Reunion 2014 is Fast Approaching

Reunion 2014 is Fast Approaching

Hey Sisters, start packing those bags with yellow and black (and don’t forget your lamb!) for the 55th Phi Lamb Birthday Reunion on June 6th, 7th, and 8th in Oswego. The PLPAA Reunion Committee is hard at work planning the PLP 55th Anniversary Luncheon & Memory-Maker Event at Bridie Manor. Walk down memory lane and see displays of PLP memorabilia, composite photos, a lamb herd photo-op, a short PLPAA annual meeting, hopefully a surprise guest speaker (a Lamb with a story!), and singing, singing, singing. So blow the dust off those lambs, stock up on nostalgia, and join your Sisters for another round of “Somewhere over the Rainbow.”

Don’t worry if your closet is devoid of yellow…Phi Lambda Phi t-shirts and sweatshirts can be ordered until May 1st. Order Online or Download a Printable Order Form

If you sign up for the SUNY-sponsored Friday night barbeque, you can lodge inexpensively in the Lakeside dorms and take shuttles to all events (the perfect designated driver!). Sisters staying in the dorm are planning a pj party to top last year’s—complete with Flaming Lambie dance lessons if you want some after-hours fun.The Reunion Committee is planning a fun Silent Auction to take place at the PLP 55th Anniversary Luncheon & Memory-Maker Event on June 7th. Please contact Juliet Lee if you have something you’d like to donate. Especially wonderful would be anything PLP-related with which you are willing to part. Some lambs are “collecting.”

PLEASE JOIN US … Our list of attending sisters from every decade is growing daily!!

Phi Lambda Phi Family Tree

Phi Lambda Phi Family Tree

Love tree

The Phi Lambda Phi Family Tree is a project spearheaded by Amanda Healey Pendock ‘04. You can see her weekly shout outs on the PLPAA FaceBook page: Phi Lambda Phi Alumni Association (Official Group). She tags individual sisters and asks for names of their bigs (sisters), littles, and any other information she can gather! The PLP Family Tree will be displayed at the reunion. If you’d rather contact her directly, click here to email Amanda with your name, pledge year, graduation year, and big and little sister names. She’d really appreciate it.
