Celebrating Our Past and Creating Our Future

Celebrating Our Past and Creating Our Future

Once again it’s time for our annual PLPAA membership drive. Membership spans our fiscal year from July 1 to June 30 each year.

Your active membership and support really mean a lot to the PLPAA. But we need your participation and commitment as much as we need your donation. We are looking for sisters from every era to help and work on various committees.

In the coming year, your membership is needed more than ever. WE CONTINUE TO HELP BUILD OUR ACTIVE SISTERHOOD AND ENSURE THE FUTURE OF PHI LAMBDA PHI. In today’s climate Greeks on the Oswego campus need a strong alumnae presence to survive. We as alumnae need to do everything in our power to ensure that the legacy of Phi Lambda Phi lives on. We need every sister’s support. BE A SUPPORTING MEMBER – all it takes is a donation of your choice.

Your membership money will be used to:

  • Offer memorable events at reunions, supplying favors, offering discounts on reunion activities, merchandise and meals venues.
  • Fund a successful Rush — marketing materials, favors at rush parties, flyers on campus, rides to transport pledges to our rush events, memorabilia displays, printing costs.
  • Help actives pay their liability insurance which each local Greek organization must pay to be recognized on campus.
  • Produce more newsletters, especially printed newsletters we can mail to our sisters who do not have email.
  • Fund efforts to find “lost” sisters.
  • Scan and preserve scrapbooks, photos, composites, pledging and rush documents.
  • Make improvements to our website, newsletters, and brochures so that we can better communicate with you, our sisters.

Our Amazing Actives

Our Amazing Actives

There were 9 actives who joined us at the luncheon. It is safe to say on behalf of all sisters that these are a REMARKABLE group of young women. The exemplify the foundations that helped to form Phi Lambda Phi and are a diverse group of young women who are open and eager to sare their experiences and welcome in the alumni to their Phi Lamb experience.

The actives are eager and excited to focus on recruitment and growing Phi Lambda Phi. They are looking to us to help them have a successful rush and get two huge pledge classes this academic year. We are happy that the newest sisters are highly motivated to help us reach our common goals. They look to recruit new pledges who have a lot of motivation and drive to rebuild with the standards and morals that that Phi Lambda Phi was founded on. We cannot be any prouder to have them continue to carry on our traditions, share in wearing our colors and grow our beloved Phi lambda Phi.

Our Shining Star

Our Shining Star

PLPAA Alumnae Achievement Award recognizes alumnae who have gone above and beyond to assist their Sisters. Each year this award is given to deserving Sister(s) at our Annual Meeting in June during Reunion Weekend. This year’s recipients were Susan Shanahan and Beth Rapple for their yearlong efforts of spearheading our Pledge Survival Basket program.
As many sisters have helped donate generously, both money, gift cards and special goodies and gifts for the actives and pledges these two sisters amidst their busy lives take time out to pull it all together, purchasing and assembling baskets and delivering them to Oswego during pledging. These two sisters have given so much of themselves to Phi Lamb and are definitely this year’s Shining Stars!
